The Lakers want rookie point guard D'Angelo Russell completely focused on becoming the star who can take the torch from Kobe Bryant as the franchise star. There's no indication Russell isn't working hard, but his latest affiliation might be a dagger through Lakers fans' hearts.
According to reports, Russell has struck up a romance with Kendall Jenner, the 19-year-old half-sister of Kim and Khloe Kardashian. There' no shortage of drama in that family these days, and a lot of it involves the Lakers.

Bryant recently left a preseason game early to visit Lamar Odom, his former Lakers teammate on two title teams. Odom, who was separated from Khloe Kardashian, had overdosed on drugs in a Las Vegas brothel and gone into a coma for several days. He is now awake, and expected to survive, although the full extent of damage to him is still unknown.
Khloe is also linked to James Harden, whom she had been dating this summer before breaking it off to re-unite with Odom while he recovers from his near-death experience. Kim, the second-oldest of the Kardashian sisters, was briefly married to Wizards forward Kris Humphries, and is currently married to rapper Kanye West. Kylie, the youngest of the clan, is dating rapper Tyga.

So far Russell is struggling this year, averaging nine points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 25 minutes. He's shooting 36 percent from the field, and just 26 percent from 3-point land. Russell also has strong competition for playing time in second-year guard Jordan Clarkson, and Brazilian veteran Marcelo Huertas.
