New York Giants Rumors: Find Out Why Drew Brees' Son Was Rooting For Big Blue On Sunday [VIDEO]

Drew Brees may have got out of bed Monday morning as a winner, but his oldest son wasn't necessarily happy to see it.

The Saints quarterback engaged in a shootout with Eli Manning and the Giants on Sunday, with New Orleans edging out New York in a back-and-forth affair, 52-49, with a last-second field goal by Kai Forbath ensuring the victory. Brees later revealed that his oldest son, Baylen, was rooting for Manning and Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. because the Giants stars attended the same school as him, Newman H.S. in New Orleans.

"The three boys are really into it," Brees said of his sons on 'The Dan Patrick Show.' "...Here was the problem with yesterday's game, my sons go to Newman High School, which is where Eli Manning and Odell Beckham went to high school. So, my oldest one decided that he was gonna cheer for Odell Beckham and Eli Manning."

The rooting nearly paid off, as Manning threw for six touchdowns in the game, three of which went to Beckham. Unfortunately for Baylen, daddy dearest was just that much better.

Brees tied an NFL record by throwing for seven touchdowns, becoming just the eighth player in NFL history to do so in a single game. He found C.J. Spiller in the end zone on a 9-yard throw to tie the game at 49 late in the fourth quarter for his seventh of the day.

The teams combined for 101 points, making Sunday's game the third-largest scoring contest in NFL history. He also threw for 511 yards and just one interception, ruining his son's day.

Despite the Saints' win, which was their third straight, Baylen was still standing by Beckham Monday morning.

"He's very artistic, so he wanted me to draw a Saints logo on a piece of paper and the New York Giants logo," Brees said. "And he wanted to draw a picture of Odell Beckham scoring a touchdown and then draw the score underneath on the scoreboard that he had drawn, so it continues."

Still, Brees has to draw the line somewhere.

"Now he wants an Odell Beckham jersey," the signal caller said with a laugh, "so we're having to contemplate this decision."
