Tiger Woods Rumors: Caddy Says Golfer Treated Him Like Slave, Hung Him Out To Dry In Scandal [VIDEO]

Tiger Woods and caddie Steve Williams had a far deeper connection than a simple working relationship -- except for the times that Woods made Williams feel like a slave.

Williams penned an autobiography, "Out of the Rough," with New Zealand journalist Michael Donaldson in which the caddie says he believes Woods treated him like a friend for much of their time together -- until Woods got caught in his infidelity scandal in 2009.

Media Harassment Turned Tiger Woods Into A Recluse

Williams, however, contended that Woods often forgot about their kindred friendship when he was out on the course, in an excerpt from his book as posted by stuff.co.nz.

"I was adamant that some of his behavior on the course had to change," Williams said, talking about when he had learned about Woods' affairs and knew that he had to talk to his employer about a number of issues. "He was well known for his bad temper and, while that wasn't pleasant to witness, you could live with it because it ended as quickly as it started. But he had other bad habits that upset me. I wanted him to prove to me he could change his behavior and show me -- and the game of golf -- more respect.

"One thing that really pissed me off was how he would flippantly toss a club in the general direction of the bag, expecting me to go over and pick it up. I felt uneasy about bending down to pick up his discarded club -- it was like I was his slave. The other thing that disgusted me was his habit of spitting at the hole if he missed a putt. Tiger listened to what I had to say, the air was cleared and we got on with it -- his goal was to be the best player in history and my goal was to keep working as best I could to help make that happen."

The excerpt told the story of when Williams, whose wife Kirsty was friend with Woods' wife Elin Nordegren, first learned about accusations of Tiger's affair with Rachel Uchitel in 2009. The caddie talked about how he had no knowledge of Woods' personal life, how he was hounded by the media and blamed by some for joining Woods in his infidelity.

Williams blamed Woods for not publicly clearing his caddie of any wrongdoing during Woods' dark days.
