Floyd "Money" Mayweather wasn't the only one cashing in following his annihilation of Canelo Alvarez in their WBA/WBC junior middleweight unification title fight in Las Vegas last Saturday night.
Hip hop star Snoop Lion took to Instagram to celebrate the "pound of weed" he won in a fight-night wager where he put his money on the pound-for-pound king.
"Thanks to the champ, Money May, for winning me a pound from my Mexican buddy Lui !! U r the pound for pound best! N I'm gonna smoke 2 dat !!! Hahahahahahahah," he posted.
Mayweather easily bested Alvarez in a majority decision where the only suspense stemmed from many onlookers openly questioning how one of the judges could score the fight a 114-114 draw.
Despite all the criticism, judge Cynthia "C.J." Ross told TMZ she stands by her scorecard and isn't fazed by all the criticism which included longtime boxing expert Teddy Atlas suggesting "she was paid off by gamblers."
In any event, Mayweather pocketed a record-setting purse of $41.5 million and some estimates indicate his winnings could ultimately exceed that, according to TMZ.
After the fight, Mayweather told reporters he now plans to take some time off before deciding who will face next from a field that could include Adrien Broner, Amir Khan, Marcos Maidana and Devon Alexander.
