One night removed from the WWE celebrating its champions with the annual Night of Champions pay-per-view, the company stripped a champion of his belt by taking the WWE Title away from Daniel Bryan. RAW kicked off with Triple H yelling at Scott Armstrong for using a fast count when Bryan pinned Orton to win the title at the pay-per-view, and he stripped the WWE Championship from Bryan and said there is no champion right now before Randy Orton laid out Bryan.

Triple H fired Armstrong later in the evening for what happened at Night of Champions, but said he'll take care of him with a nice severance package.

Bryan was prominently featured in the main event of the evening as well, as he took on Roman Reigns of the Shield in the final match of the card. Bryan won the match via disqualification after he put the Yes Lock on Reigns but Randy Orton ran down to break it up and draw the bell.

Bryan then put the Yes Lock on Orton, but the Shield made the save. The Usos, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, Rob Van Dam, Titus O'Neil, Darren Young and other WWE Superstars ran out for to aid Bryan and a big brawl ensued until finally Orton and the Shield retreated, leaving all the WWE Superstars in the ring with Bryan as a "YES" chant broke out.

In another prominent storyline, Stephanie McMahon continued to threaten the Big Show's job security if he wouldn't continue to do what she said and told him to sit and wait in her office until she needed him and he continued to oblige due to the fact that he needs the job for financial reasons. Stephanie also yelled at Orton earlier in the night and demanded he unleash his crazy side.

In more McMahon involvement, WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes came out to the ring and requested that Stephanie McMahon join him in the ring so that he can convince her to give his son Cody Rhodes his job back. Stephanie gave Dusty a Bed Bath & Beyond gift card to give to Cody as a wedding present, before saying that she'll give either Cody or Dusty's other son Goldust their job back but Dusty has to choose. Dusty then got upset and the two argued about parenting until The Shield's music hit.

Stephanie then called out The Big Show and said Dusty's choice was between getting attacked by The Shield or punched by Big Show. Dusty couldn't make one so she asked The Shield to attack him. The Shield all grabbed chairs and surrounded Dusty. Big Show came in and whispered something to Dusty. Dusty nodded and Big Show cried and said "I'm sorry," before knocking him out with a punch and crying over his prone body. Show then rode off in an ambulance with Dusty.

In other action, Dolph Ziggler earned another United States Championship shot at a later date after he defeated U.S. Champion Dean Ambrose in a non-title match with his Zig-Zag finisher and Fandango defeated R-Truth with a top-rope leg drop finisher.

In six-diva tag action, Brie Bella, Naomi and Cameron defeated Alicia Fox, Layla and Aksana after Brie pinned Aksana following a brawl. Also on the card, Rob Van Dam defeated Damien Sandow with a Five Star Frogsplash and in a No.1 contenders match for the Tag Titles, The Usos beat Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro and Brodus Clay and Tensai in a three-way tag team elimination match after the Usos hit a big splash on Cesaro from the top. The Usos earned a title shot at a future date.

Bray Wyatt had a vignette air on the show where he vowed to put down all WWE superstars.

Also on the show, the Miz and Randy Orton battled to a no contest after Orton beat on the Miz in front of his parents in his hometown with a steel chair and a running knee. Paul Heyman had an in-ring segment where he came down in a wheel chair with his new charge Ryback and Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel. Heyman said Punk crippled him in their match at the PPV, but it's Heyman who is the best in the world. He praises Ryback who told Punk that he can't stand bullies.

Last night's RAW was the fallout of WWE Night of Champions and the beginning of a build towards the Battleground pay-per-view on Oct. 6 in Buffalo, NY.
