Forgive the Mets for getting a tad out of hand when they won the National League pennant, they hadn’t done it since 2000. The Mets not only swept the favored Cubs in the NLCS this year, they never trailed at any point. That’s cause for celebration, and that’s just what manager Terry Collins did.
Against orders, Collins, 66, partied like a rock star on the field and blasted gleeful Mets fans with champagne at Wrigley Field. Bold move Collins, even if MLB is likely to hit your wallet for it.

“Our policy explicitly states that no alcohol is permitted outside of the clubhouse or at any time on the field of play, and that all celebrations involving the use of alcohol must take place within the clubhouse,” Pat Courtney, MLB’s chief communication officer said. “We have MLB security on-site to enforce our rules. The commissioner determines the appropriate steps if any individuals violate our rules.”
This one-ups Collins’ interaction with Mets fans at Dodger stadium after the Mets won the NLDS, when one delirious fan planted a fat kiss on him.
Who knew one of baseball’s oldest managers got down like that? Here are some athletes and celebs Collins needs to get in touch with.
Floyd Mayweather Jr.
“Money” Mayweather is the highest-paid athlete in the world this year, lives in Las Vegas and just “retired.” He’s got plenty of time to give Collins a tour of several excellent establishments on the strip.
Adrien Broner
Oh boy, baby Mayweather. He’s proven he isn’t even half as good as his “big bro” inside a boxing ring, but Broner gets it in at the clubs.
Rob Gronkowski
Gronk is not only one of the best football players on the planet, he keeps things in perspective win or lose. Check out Gronk AFTER New England lost the Super Bowl to the Giants.
Drake & Chris Brown
Remember when these guys were chucking bottles at each other in the club, and they nearly took out Spurs PG Tony Parker’s eye? Well Collins, as a manager, has to handle lots of egos. He could’ve settled these fellas down and had a nice night.
Allen Iverson
Current Grizzlies forward Matt Barnes says “The Answer” used to go H.A.M. in strip joints, dropping $30,000-$40,000 per trip. Wow!
