Miami Dolphins News: Slowing Down J.J. Watt Key To Victory [VIDEO]

The Dolphins have set up strategies to stop Texans defensive end J.J. Watt when they play at Sun Life Stadium on Sunday. Slowing down Watt will be one of the biggest keys for the Dolphins to win.

The Dolphins are expected to do a lot of double-teaming and "chipping", based on Dolphins offensive coordinator Bill Lazor's comments on how previous opponents have dealt with Wat.

But Lazor admitted that sometimes these strategies don't matter as Watt gets through it anyway.

The Dolphins are also thinking of matching Watt's physicality with their offensive linemen to improve chances of slowing him down.

"You're just going to have to be physical with him," quipped guard Dallas Thomas, who added that Watt will get physical in return and they have to be ready for that.

Watt will test multiple Dolphins linemen, and it will be up to players like Thomas and offensive tackles Branden Albert and Ja'Wuan James to match that physicality, ESPN noted.

Furthermore, the Dolphins have to run successfully like last week when they had a run-to-pass ratio of 32-to-29. Such ratio would force Watt to consistently defend the run.

Watt defends best when the opposing offense becomes one-dimensional and had to pass, allowing him to make quarterback sacks, forcing fumbles and batting passes, which could lead to interceptions.

However, Campbell said they will not completely change their offensive identity to slow down a single player. The Dolphins intend to run successfully and be efficient with their passing regardless of who their opponents are.
