WWE Superstar John Cena is most likely sidelined from in-ring competition until at least January, but reports have surfaced that WWE could be bringing the Cenation leader back to its programming in a non-wrestling capacity in October.

Cena underwent surgery to repair his left triceps following WWE's SummerSlam pay-per-view on Aug. 18 after announcing the following night on WWE Monday Night RAW that surgery was inevitable and would require four-to-six months of recovery time. Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that the WWE may have some plans of bringing Cena back without having him wrestle in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

"While John Cena won't be able to wrestle until around Royal Rumble time, there is already talk of bringing him back to WWE TV in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month," the Wrestling Observer Newsletter read. "Cena wants to start making appearances for the company to help with their big Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. Cena's rehab for his injuries will be one of the storylines for the second half of this Total Divas season also."

Cena has been giving the WWE Universe updates on his injury through his Twitter account, but hasn't appeared on any WWE programs aside from the E! reality show Total Divas, since his announcement Aug. 19.

Bleacher Report states that rumors circulating around Cena's return could possibly lead to his involvement in the altercation with Triple H, Randy Orton and the McMahons, who are currently feuding with Daniel Bryan, Cena's SummerSlam opponent. Rumor has it a storyline could possibly involve Cena jumping to Bryan's aid in an attempt to help him fend off the modern day corporation, which also consists of the Shield.

Cena has returned from injuries quicker than expected before. In October of 2007, Cena was sustained a torn pectoral muscle and was supposed to miss between 7-12 months of action to recover from the surgery he had to repair it, but Cena made a surprising comeback at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view that year just about four months later and won the Royal Rumble match.

Could Cena have another surprise in-ring return up his sleeve, or will he come back in a non-wrestling capacity to help Bryan fend off the swarming corporation and the corporate WWE Champion Randy Orton?
