Kobe Bryant is injured again, but not as seriousMy as he has been in previous years.
The Lakers star player is nursing a bruised lower left leg which he incurred during the team’s last gsme with the Kings.

As a precautionary measure, the Lakers have opted to rest the Black Mamba starting this Saturday when the team goes up against the defending champion Warriors. For now, Bryant is on a day-to-day basis though it won’t be surprising if the Lakers guard ends up sitting the rest of the preseason games.
The Lakers are not alarmed with his injury, something that head coach Byron Scott calls a simple soreness on the muscle. The decision to sit out Bryant is more of a precautionary measure with the regular season set to kick off in a couple of weeks.

Scott’s comments were meant to assure fans that Bryant is all good and that if this had been a regular season game, then perhaps Bryant would be out there playing. But the fact is that is not so there is no reason for him to play on with the injury and risk making it worse.
Jordan Clarkson is the likely candidate to fill in for Kobe, a chance as well for Scott to see how he and rookie D’Angelo Russell can function, especially for the coming season.
Aside from Clarkson, there is also Nick Young and probably Lou Williams as well to fill in the void.
After the Warriors, the Lakers play the Portland Trail Blazers Monday.
