Johnny Manziel Rumors: Argument With Drunk Girlfriend May Cost Johnny Football His Job [VIDEO]

Colleen Crowley has been dating Johnny Manziel long enough to know better.

Johnny Manziel should know better than to assume that he will continue to be a member of the Browns football team.

Both took to social media Friday night in an attempt to downplay an incident in which police were called to a scene on the side of the road in Avon, Ohio where Manziel and Crowley were arguing, Cleveland.com reported Friday.

Alcohol also was involved, according to the report, and Crowley told police that Manziel hit her a couple of times and "pushed her head against the glass."

Police ultimately decided that Manziel did not harm her, according to Cleveland.com. A police reported noted a wrist abrasion on Crowley that police determined occurred when Manziel tried to prevent her from getting out of a moving vehicle.

Crowley reportedly was drunk. Manziel was not, but had been drinking. That is a red flag, considering that he spent 10 weeks in rehab during the offseason for an undisclosed condition.

Manziel and Crowley became a couple during the 2014 offseason, when the quarterback'so hard-partying exploits constantly were a topic on social media.

Speculation about Manziel's future with Cleveland immediately came into question, as multiple media outlets wrote of the trust the Browns may have lost in the backup quarterback over the incident.

"The Browns may wind up looking like fools if they choose to believe Manziel's words again," USA Today Sports reported. "He may have spent the past seven months trying to repair his image, but this is the sort of incident that will make any credibility or goodwill he's established with the team and public vanish."

Trust was the subject of another Cleveland.com report concerning Manziel.

"He did, however, violate the trust of an organization that has supported him in a battle with personal demons and his effort to 'close a chapter on my life' filled with drama and self-inflicted wounds," the report stated.
