Indianapolis Colts Rumors: Andrew Luck Shocking Turnover Stat Blamed On GM By Chuck Pagano [VIDEO]

Andrew Luck is universally considered one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but if that's the case, why is he being compared today to the likes of Geno Smith and Blake Bortles? It's because Luck's 28 turnovers since Week 1 of 2014 are the most of any quarterback in the league.

There's no way to sugarcoat this fact-Luck is often reckless with the football. He has thrown single-digit interceptions just once in three NFL seasons, and fumbled the ball a whopping 13 times in 2014. Last season he was able to mask his propensity for coughing up the ball with 40 touchdowns.

Luck, Pagano Expect To See Lots Of Blitzes

Through the Colts first two games this year, both losses, the turnovers have been harder to ignore. Luck has been picked off five times, and he fumbled once. Head coach Chuck Pagano didn't mince words after the game about Luck's carelessness.

"It's not that hard - it's not trigonometry," Pagano said before hinting that part of Luck's problems stem from a shaky roster built by general manager Ryan Grigson.

"He has been dealing with that for three years now." Grigson took over the GM position at 2012. The Colts have also been plagued by poor play from their pass catchers. After the Colts' Week 1 loss to the Bills, Pagano said Luck was recognizing the blitzes, but not finding open receivers.

"You've got to make them pay," Pagano said. "We had opportunities that we didn't take advantage of. But I feel like our guys did a good job of handling it. (Ryan) threw everything but the kitchen sink at us. I think our guys responded. ... But you have to make plays. You have to make contested catches with guys all over you. You have to burn them. You have to talk them out of (the blitz)."
