And then there were two.
Spain and Lithuania will meet on Sunday, with an opportunity to be crowned the champions of Europe. The 2015 Eurobasket final scheduled for 1 p.m. ET will be held at Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille. A free live stream of the contest can be found here.
Spain's road to the final was not short of obstacles. Top players Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka and Jose Calderon did not join the Iberians in France, forcing Pau Gasol to carry his team. The Spaniard responded.
Two losses in their first three games were followed by five consecutive victories.
For Gasol, it was cohesion that led to Spain's success.
"This year, we're more cohesive," Gasol said, per ESPN. "We've worked together from the beginning, we're a little more concentrated. We weren't favorites this year to be where we are, at the point of the championship, because we have so many players who are missing.
"So we were just able to focus, work together and reaching our goals."
Spain and Gasol are now just one victory from the ultimate goal.
Like Spain, Lithuania were also devoid of key players, Linas Kleiza and Donatas Motiejunas. It wasn't enough to derail their campaign. Lithuania remained consistent throughout the tournament -- the only loss coming to a buzzer-beater against Belgium in the group stage.
