LPGA Tour Leaderboard: The Evian Championship Final Round Recap, Lydia Ko Highlights and Scores [VIDEO]

History was made on Sunday, seeing Lydia Ko become the youngest LPGA Tour major winner, eclipsing the record set by Morgan Pressel in 2007. Ko, 18, shot an 8-under 63 to win The Evian Championship by six strokes.

It was the best round of any Tour member this tournament.

"It's probably the best round ever," Ko said, per ESPN. "To finish with two birdies, finish on the last 72nd hole, with a birdie, it doesn't happen often, so it's definitely one of the top rounds of my whole entire life, and I'm sure it will be in my career."

"Everyone won't be asking me when I'll win my first major because it's done."

Lexi Thompson -- who remained in contention for a majority of the tournament -- couldn't stay bogey free on the front nine. A missed putt from close range on the par-3 eighth proved to be costly. Admittedly, regardless of the missed put, it was always going to be an uphill battle against Ko on Sunday.

"It's kind of hard to beat somebody that shoots 63," said Thompson. "She played amazing. She deserves it. She ball-struck the heck out of this golf course and putted it really well. You can't get much better than that."

Ko had the opportunity to claim the top spot in the Rolex Rankings, but Inbee Parked played well enough to stay in front. The current world No. 1 finish tied for eighth.
