After a pedestrian second round, Lexi Thompson putted herself back into contention on Saturday. The American is now just one stroke behind Mi Hyang Lee after shooting a 5-under 66.
"I just kind of figured out a little something with my putting that worked and that helped me out today," said Thompson, per LPGA. "I didn't hit it that great off the tee today. I hit it a lot better off the tee yesterday, but I just got more putts today."
Inbee Park -- who is seeking a career Grand Slam -- made four birdies, but struggled on the back nine. Three bogeys dropped the world No. 1 to 1-under 70. She is now tied for 16th, at 2-under 211, with Michelle Wie.
Park and Wie are no longer in contention, but Morgan Pressel is confident she is. A double-bogey on the 18th dropped her to third in the leaderboard, but that won't serve as a factor in Sunday's final round.
"You know, it was stupid now, but I felt in that moment I could hit the shot and I'm still two [strokes] back going into tomorrow," said Pressel. "So I can't dwell too much on it. I think maybe in my earlier years on Tour I certainly -- it would have affected me more, I think."
