Dwight Gooden News: Former MLB Star Sued Over Unpaid $15,254 Divorce Bill

A team of high-powered divorce attorneys have filed a lawsuit against former major league baseball star Dwight “Doc” Gooden, charging their one-time client for not paying off his divorce tab.

According to TMZ, at a rate of $325 an hours, Gooden racked up services that totaled $15,254 in his messy split from wife of three years. Monique Gooden filed for divorce in November of last year, finally ending a tumultuous relationship that dates as far back as 2005, when they were not married yet and Gooden was accused of physically attacking her after she allegedly threw a cell phone at him.

Just last month, the couple and--- at the time still living together despite the divorce filing--- was evicted from their New Jersey mansion for past due rent payments. TMZ reports homeowners sued Gooden for $18, 984 in back due payments, charging he failed to pay $4,500 in rent during the months of March, April, May and June.

Along with their two young children, the couple was forced out of the home on July 11, and there whereabouts remain publicly unknown.

A three-time World Series champ, Gooden won 194 big league games with five different teams, including a dominant, NL Cy Young Award winning 1985 season with the Mets when he went 25-3 and notched 268 strikeouts. Gooden was also a four time All Star and pitched a no-hitter as a member of the 1996 Yankees.
