Lamar Odom is being accused of a drug addiction.
A TMZ.com report is alleging that Odom's drug abuse is the reason for his marital problems with Khloe Kardashian.
TMZ.com cites multiple anonymous sources saying that Odom has had a problem for two years. It reported that Kardashian pressured him to go to rehab a year ago. She had to hire private investigators to stand guard secretly at the rehab location in San Diego to keep Odom from leaving.
According to TMZ.com, Odom kept threatening to leave and Kardashian had to make repeated visits to get him to stay. He spent a total of three weeks at the facility before leaving for good.
Odom's NBA career has fizzled since his departure from the Los Angeles Lakers after the 2010-11 season. He averaged 14.6 points with the Lakers that season. The next season, Odom played for the Dallas Mavericks, averaging just 6.6 points per game before the Mavericks benched him for the remainder of the season.
He did play in all 82 games for the Los Angeles Clippers last season, averaging 4.0 points per game.
TMZ.com reported that Odom did stay clean during last season, but he resumed taking "hardcore recreational drugs" after the season ended.
Kardashian still is dealing with reports that Odom cheated on her - she believes it happened despite his denials.
TMZ said her biggest concern was his drug use. She has not contacted a lawyer about terminating their marriage.
According to one of the sources, "Khloe is more concerned about saving Lamar than ending her marriage."
TMZ is also reporting that their families have staged an intervention in an attempt to get him to stop using, but to no avail.
Hollywoodlife.com, however, says the reason of the couple's troubles is their lack of passion and love for each other.
