Manchester United Transfer News: Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez Left Old Trafford To Feel Important, A Mistake To Let Him Go [VIDEO]

The writing was on the wall for Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez. He clearly had no future at Manchester United.

The 27-year-old joined Bayer Leverkusen on Monday, ending his tenure at Old Trafford. On Tuesday, Hernandez revealed why.

Chicharito's Future Should Be At Chivas Guadalajara

“I want to go back to feeling important and happy,” he said, per The Guardian. “I want to find happiness. Bayer made me feel important and loved and coming here was not a difficult decision to make. They made me feel wanted.”

Making Hernandez feel wanted is something Louis van Gaal never did, and it will be his biggest regret of the season.

Wayne Rooney, Marouane Fellaini and Anthony Martial are the only three strikers the United boss will be able to rely on in 2015-16. One is getting old, one is only 19 and the other one isn’t even a striker.

That’s the plan, Louis?

Admittedly, Hernandez didn’t do himself any favors. In his final game with United—a 4-0 victory over Club Brugge—Chicharito had two chances to solidify his place on the squad.

He missed both.

As legend has it, his clear-cut chance from inside the six-yard box is still in orbit.

And yet, despite that, Hernandez is still a more proven goalscorer than both Fellaini and Martial. He’s still a player van Gaal should’ve relied on this campaign.

Instead, van Gaal has left his club naked at the forward position, forcing United fans to pray each time Fellaini takes the field. Good luck winning the Premier League with that strategy.
