One of the NFL's oldest rivalries will be renewed on Sunday, albeit in a preseason capacity. Both the Cowboys and 49ers enter preseason Week 2 in search of a victory. Dallas failed to impress against the Chargers, falling 17-7 on the road. San Francisco didn't fare any better in a 23-10 loss to the Texans.

Preview

Location: Levi's Stadium
Weather: 84°F, Mostly Sunny
Odds: 49ers -3.5, per Bovada

Position Battles To Watch
Cowboys: Nick Hayden, Tyrone Crawford and Terrell McClain are all but guaranteed a spot at DT for Dallas, leaving an open competition between Ken Bishop and Davon Coleman for the final position. Both finished with three total tackles in last Thursday's loss to the Chargers.
Tyrod Taylor Makes Strong Bid To Start For Bills
49ers: The departures of Justin Smith and Ray McDonald opened the door for plenty of playing opportunities in San Francisco. Quinton Dial, Ian Williams and Glenn Dorsey all seemed like likely replacements, but Mike Purcell proved to be the most effective in preseason Week 1. The two-year veteran out of Wyoming finished with six tackles, including four solo tackles.
Performance To Examine
The Cowboys will likely feature on Sunday without Tyron Smith, Doug Free and Dez Bryant. Expect Tony Romo to join that list, forcing additional first-team snaps for Brandon Weeden. The 31-year-old played just one series in preseason Week 1, finishing 4-of-5 for 42 yards and one fumble.
