Ray Rice Return News: Browns Continue To Field Questions About RB, Fueling Speculation [VIDEO]

The Cleveland Browns continue to get a lot of questions about Ray Rice, despite their coach's warning two weeks ago that any talk was premature.

Browns running back Terrance West said after his team's exhibition game against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night that he would welcome the controversial running back into his locker room, according to Cleveland.com.

"Ray Rice, that's my guy," said West, who rushed for 42 yards on 11 carries against the Bills. "I hope he gets a second chance no matter where he goes. I just hope he gets a second chance. He's like a big brother to me."

West is a Baltimore native who grew up a Ravens fan.

That interview came on the heels of a conversation Cleveland quarterback Josh McCown had with NBC Sports Radio's Pro Football Talk Live. In it, McCown, too, said the Browns would be receptive to Rice - just like any player that management brought in with the expectation that he could help the team.

"He would be received just like anyone else if he could help us," McCown said recently on NBC Sports Radio's PFT Live. "We need to be about second chances and forgiveness, and if the organization does their research and they feel like Ray has moved past that. . . . And there's some people in our organization that have obviously been around Ray, you know on other teams and such. Then I think we welcome him if he can help us."

Coach Mike Pettine, who has said he wants to give his current running back the opportunity to win the starting role first, said he was encouraged by what he saw from West against the Bills but wasn't overly complimentary.

"Yeah, I thought he did good," Pettine told Cleveland.com. "A couple of times, I think he started to see stuff that wasn't there and come out of the read too soon, but I thought he did some really good things."
