Manchester United Transfer News: Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez, Harry Kane Swap Good For Both Parties [VIDEO]

Purely speculative, there is one bit of transfer business both Manchester United and Tottenham can afford. Admittedly, it heavily favors the former in the short-term, but swapping Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and cash for Harry Kane is the one transfer both parties should consider.

United have already tabled a bid for the 22-year-old, per Telegraph. The fee was rejected, as it fell short of Tottenham's £40 million valuation.

Gordon Hill, who made his name in Manchester in the 1970s, believes Kane is the level of signing that can improve the club's chances this season.

"I don't know where the goals are going to come from in the Premier League this season," said Hill, per Talksport. "United should get the checkbook out and go and buy Harry Kane. Harry Kane is young, he is enthusiastic and we've got players who can service him."

Mauricio Pochettino, however, sees his club operating in a different direction. The Tottenham manager would prefer to add to his strike force, not sell it.

"We have players like Nacer Chadli, Erik Lamela, and now Clinton N'Jie, who can play like a striker, but I think we need one more striker to be sure for different games," Pochettino said, per Mirror. "Sometimes to play together.

"It's obvious we need one more offensive player. We have confidence we will bring in some offensive player, but I can't give the name today."

That's all well and good in theory, but in reality, Tottenham must accept their role. The club has repeatedly failed to qualify for Champions League football and forced into selling its top players. This season will be no different, seeing United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City finish above the North London side. Kane and his quality will be unable to flourish in an average environment.

Selling Kane for Hernandez and a considerable amount of money bodes well for Tottenham. A suitable replacement will temporarily fill Kane's void and the agreed to transfer fee can lure in the next generation of stars to compete.

It's either that, or consistently finish sixth and hold back one of this generation's purest strikers.
