Russell Wilson, Ciara Update: Singer Talks About 'Double Standard' In Issues With Future

R&B artist Ciara recently opened up about her relationship with Russell Wilson and her problems with her former fiancé and rap artist Future.

The "Dance Like We're Making Love" singer has been involved with the Seahawks quarterback since April, but there have been some issues when it comes to the 2014 Super Bowl champion spending time with her son.

Ciara was engaged to Future in October 2013 and the two had their son, Future Zahir Wilburn, in May 2014, but the relationship soon faded. The couple called it quits last August, but Future has a problem with Wilson playing a role in their son's life.

The R&B star appeared on "CBS This Morning" and talked about the issues between her and future and how she believes the way it's discussed by people is a double standard.

"It's been very interesting, you know to hear what a lot of guys have had to say," Ciara said. "And I feel like in a sense it's a bit of a double standard because at one point in time when him and I were together, I took care of his kids as well at a very young time in our relationship. I was involved very early in the stage of us getting to know each other and that's been a big conversation. And it's kind of like, well what's the difference here?"

Ciara said she realizes people are going to discuss her personal life due to her celebrity, but she also feels frustrated by the way people react to things.

"People are gonna talk about me, I was built for this, this is what I'm supposed to be doing," Ciara said. "People are gonna talk about you all the time. That's what it comes to, but when it comes to your child, it's something that I don't take lightly. ...To speak on such a sensitive and real situation when you don't have all the facts is really -- that to me is a big part of the frustrating part of it all."

While Ciara's personal life continues to play out in tabloids, her mainstream success continues to grow as her "Dance Like We're Making Love" single has more than 20 million plays online.
