Goals: Toluca—Uribe 29’, 74’ - Triverio 45’; Chivas Guadalajara—Bravo 56’
Recap: Chivas Guadalajara returned to the reality of defeat, falling to Toluca 3-1 on Sunday.
Dominated from the onset, Chivas conceded 66 percent possession and 11 attempts in the first half. They would eventually be punished in the 29th minute. A towering header from Fernando Uribe opened the affair. Enrique Triverio would double the advantage just seconds before the break.
Guadalajara's attempt at a comeback fell short. A clinical finish from Fernando Uribe in the 74th minute sealed the 3-1 victory.
Key Moment: Officials should never play a part in determining a match. That wasn’t necessarily the case on Sunday given Toluca’s domination of the ball, but controversy emerged in the first half. A phantom call on Hedgardo Marin sent Triverio to the spot. The 26-year-old left zero doubts with his finish.

Man of the Match: Amid the chaos of two ejections, Uribe was the most controlled and confident player on the ball for Toluca.
Lesson Learned: Injuries have plagued Chivas Guadalajara’s campaign, but a healthy XI is near. Oswaldo Alanis, Marco Fabian and Isaac Brizuela returned to the pitch on Sunday, immediately impacting the match. Guadalajara out-shot and out-possessed Toluca in the second half. Admittedly, some of that had to do with Toluca's comfortable lead, but Fabian did manag to find Omar Bravo for Chivas’ only goal on the day.

The club is far from a finished product, but given Dorados recent woes, the threat of relegation is dissipating.
Up Next: Both clubs return to league action on Aug. 22, with Chivas Guadalajara traveling to Leon and Toluca battling Atlas.
