Tonight, at 7:10 p.m. ET the Los Angeles Dodgers (72-52) and Miami Marlins (48-75) continue their four-game set with Game 2 from Marlins Park in South Beach. The game can be live streamed here. Dodgers fans can listen to the action at 570 Fox Sports, while Marlins fans can do the same at WAXY 790AM/104.3FM.
The Dodgers, who've had their fair share of problems putting away the Marlins this season, will send Chris Capuano (4-6, 4.66 ERA in 16 starts) to the mound while Miami will counter with Jacob Turner (3-4, 2.89 ERA in 14 starts).
The Dodgers, who are 25-5 since the All-Star break and 42-10 since June 22, dropped their second game in a row Monday in a 6-2 loss to the Marlins in the series opener. The two-game losing streak is the Dodgers' first since losing to the Padres in back-to-back contests in San Diego on June 20-21.
The Marlins, who own the worst record in the National League and the second-to-worst record in all of baseball besides the Houston Astros (41-83), are 2-2 against the much-better Dodgers this season. Capuano defeated the Marlins at Dodgers stadium on May 12 while allowing one run on five hits and fanning seven in 6.1 innings.
Capuano's best outing of last year's campaign came at Marlins Park where he struck out 10 Marlins over eight scoreless innings. One person the Marlins will look to for support in getting to Capuano is outfielder Logan Morrison, who is a lifetime .294 (5-for-17) hitter against the lefty.
Capuano has been inconsistent in his last six starts, posting three scoreless outings while also having three appearances where he yielded more than four runs, though the Dodgers are 6-0 in his last six starts.
Dodger's explosive rookie Yasiel Puig is hitless in his last 11 at-bats entering tonight's game and is hitting .171 (6-for-35) in his past nine games.
Meanwhile, the Marlins, who will be without Placido Polanco due to a concussion, have run into a plethora of playoff contending teams, leading them to a 7-10 record this month. Miami is on a decent hot streak, having won four of its last six contests.
"We've run into some hot teams," Turner told MLB.com. "It's a matter of stepping up our level. We've been playing well. We've been competitive."
Turner hasn't won since July 10 and has three no-decisions in his last four starts.
It will be a cross-country battle of a first place team in the Dodgers and a last place team in the Marlins tonight, but with Los Angeles' struggles against Miami recently, the outcome is everything but predictable.
