Chivas Guadalajara vs. Morelia Highlights: Chivas Guadalajara 2-0 Morelia, Analysis, Recap and Match Report [VIDEO]

Goals: Chivas Guadalajara—Bravo 27', 29'

Recap: Ninety minutes of competitive football saw Chivas Guadalajara defeat Monarcas Morelia 2-0 late Wednesday night.

Despite conceding a lion's share of the possession (63 percent) and a majority of the attempts (15 of 27), it was Chivas who managed to open the affair in the first half. A right-footed shot from Omar Bravo—assisted by an inch-perfect cross from Jose Ramirez—lifted the hosts to a 1-0 lead. Not two minutes later, Bravo would secure his brace, polishing off a simple cross from teammate Carlos Fierro.

The 2-0 victory lifts Chivas to four points in the table.

Key Moment: Easily pointing to Bravo's second goal, it's the significance behind it that solidifies its place in history. Scoring for the 123rd time in his career, the 35-year-old became the club's all-time leading scorer on Wednesday, breaking Salvador "Chava" Reyes' record of 58 years.

Man of the Match: No one, not even Jose Enriquez's amicable performance in midfield, was able to outshine Bravo on the night.

Lesson Learned: Don't book your flight for a Liga MX final in Morelia just yet. The club surprisingly entered Week 4 atop the table, but were exposed at Estadio Omnilife. A massive overhaul in defense—one that conceded zero goals in its first three contests—proved to be susceptible to a high press from the opposition. Morelia are vastly improved from recent debacles, but any faith in Liga MX title should immediately be displaced with reality.

Up Next: Morelia hosts Leon on Aug. 15, while Chivas travel to Toluca on Aug. 16.
