Shield WWE Rumors: Dean Ambrose Heel Turn At 'SummerSlam' Hinted In Latest Interview [VIDEO]

There have been rumors of a possible swerve in the "Family vs. Family" match at SummerSlam as speculation has risen over a potential Dean Ambrose heel turn.

Backstage News On Plans For Sting's Return To WWE Ring

The buzz is continuing to generate after The Lunatic Fringe and his tag team partner Roman Reigns sat down with Michael Cole in his weekly interview forum and crowed over their friendship to one another.

Cole asked Reigns what makes his bond with his former Shield stablemate special, and the leader of the Roman Empire said that Ambrose has had his back even after Seth Rollins turned his back on them.

10 Things We Want To See Happen At WWE SummerSlam

"My whole life I've been a physical person," Roman Reigns said. "I've been an athlete. I've been in the trenches; I've been through so many battles. But since I've stepped in WWE, I haven't been in this type of physicality. I haven't been in this type of war on a weekly basis. 52 weeks out of the year -- damn near every single night -- I'm away from my family. I've seen a lot of cool places, but he's never faltered. He's always had my back. Always. Even when our other brother didn't have my back, never faltered."

Cole then asked Ambrose about his kinship to Reigns.

"There are a lot of people in this world that suck," Ambrose said. "And you can tell and sniff those people out if you're a real straight up dude and those kind of guys can sniff each other out. And Roman's a real straight up dude. What you see is what you get. What he thinks is what you're gonna hear. What he says he's gonna do he does. And that's the kind of people you want to be around. That's the only people I can associate with and there aren't many of them."

Ambrose's crazy, loner persona has led to a lot of rumors that he may turn on Reigns at SummerSlam on Aug. 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn when they battle The Wyatt Family.

While nothing has been confirmed, this interview could be used as a set up to the Lunatic Fringe's character change.

Cole turned the duo's attention to SummerSlam and asked if it will be the end of their rivalry with Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper.

"No, no man," Ambrose said. "It's cats and dogs. The Wyatt's, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, we're never gonna get along. It's an evolutionary -- some kind of scientific thing. You ever heard the phrase, 'This town ain't big enough for the two of us?' That's what this is. It will never be over."

Added Reigns: "As much as I want closure, I'd be satisfied with closure and moving onto a title picture, don't get me wrong, but I would pay damn good money to lock myself in a room with a whole bunch of time. I don't want distractions. I don't want people bothering me when I'm at work. I want four walls, no windows, no doors and Bray Wyatt. And I want to be left to my devices. That's what I want, Michael Cole. Is it gonna stop at SummerSlam? Hell no."
