WGC Bridgestone Invitational Round 1 Recap, Highlights and Scores
Jim Furyk surged to top the leaderboard on Friday, ending his round at a comfortable 8-under par. Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson and Shane Lowry enter Day 3 tied for second, while Day 1 leader Danny Lee is now five strokes off the pace.

Bubba Watson
It was a measuring contest between Bubba Watson and Dustin Johnson on Friday. The two put on a dazzling display at the 16th hole, with Watson's 396-yarder only being outdone by Johnson's 406-yard screamer off the tee.

Unlike last year, Watson plans on participating in the long drive competition at the PGA Championship, and for good reason. The only stipulation keeping him from doing so is winning the Bridgestone Invitational.
"If I win this week, no [I won't participate] because I'm not playing any practice rounds," Watson said, per PGATour.com. "Let's go ahead and put it out there. No practice rounds."
