CM Punk may be training to fight other competitors in the Octagon, but he showed his humorous side when he appeared on the IFC show Maron alongside Marc Maron.

In a clip of the pending UFC fighter's appearance, Punk and Maron get into it while training.

Punk is doing push-ups on the outset when Maron approaches him.

"Hey Punk, thanks for helping me out man," Maron says in the clip. "I appreciate it."

"Don't mention it, anything for you," Punk says. "And besides, I'm training for MMA everyday so it works out."

Maron replies: "MMA man, now you really gotta work your ass off right?"

Counters Punk: "You know, it's really not all that different than training for wrestling."

Maron then draws the ire of Punk.

"Oh I can think of a pretty big difference," Maron says. "Because wrestling's fake."

Punk then stops his push-ups and confronts Maron.

"Okay are we gonna have a problem?" Punk asks, "Because I'm sensing a little bit of attitude right off the bat."

"No, no man," Maron says. "I was just talking."

Punk then says he is going to push Maron more than he's ever been pushed in his life and the two have an entertaining segment where the Best in the World criticizes the comedian for trying to do curls with 15-pound weights.

Outside of the small screen, Punk is training for his first UFC fight and he has been working out at Roufusport in Milwaukee to prepare for his debut.

The Best in the World left the WWE in January of 2014 and then received his termination papers from the company that June after walking out due to his frustrations.

Punk then signed with UFC in December and his first fight was tentatively scheduled for late this year, but he recently intimated that it could occur in early 2016.

While his debut in the Octagon is yet to come, Punk appeared to have some fun with Maron at the gym.
