What They're Saying

Brazil head coach Rogerio Micale (via FIFA): "For us, we have a concept of football that involves us playing an offensive game, looking to score every time we have the ball and of course we had some difficulty [against Uruguay. But this is at least the kind of football we are trying to play. In the final stages of the first half, all of the second half and all of the extra time, Brazil had control of the game and we had so many shots on the goal. It would have been very bad for the sport of football if we had been eliminated because we were the team was really trying to score, whereas Uruguay were trying to defend all the time. Thank God justice was done."

Portugal head coach Helio Sousa (via FIFA): "We knew it would be a difficult match and that New Zealand's playing style could make life tough for us, especially in terms of winning the first and second balls around our penalty area. There were times when we didn't do so well in those situations. We weren't as clinical as we should be though."
