Former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez is spending the rest of his life in prison, has another murder case pending, and has already been involved in a prison fight since being convicted of first degree murder in April. That has not kept him from keeping his spirits up.
According to reports, a letter sent by Hernandez to a female fan has hit the internet, and shows Hernandez flirting with her and encouraging a visit to the prison.
"I am doing well and will always, we have so much to be thankful for in life, even when we naturally focus on the negatives. But there are many ways we are all blessed and should all wake up with smiles, daily!" Hernandez wrote.
"P.S. You should have asked, I would have accepted, but don't regret it, everything happens for a reason :) lol."
Hernandez has a number of reasons to not be smiling as well. At the time of his arrest he had just signed a five-year, $40 million extension with the Patriots. His legal woes are also far from over despite there being no chance of him ever leaving prison.
Prior to killing Odin Lloyd, Hernandez is accused of gunning down two men in a drive-by shooting in Boston following an altercation inside a night club over a spilled drink. Hernandez is awaiting trial on those two killings. He's also facing legal action for shooting a former friend, Alexander Bradley, in the face and leaving him to die. Authorities have speculated Hernandez shot Bradley over comments made about the drive-by.
Since his conviction, Hernandez has also already found trouble. He allegedly served as a lookout in a gang altercation.
