Bill Goldberg has been teasing a return to the ring and he got a bit of a tune up this past weekend.

Goldberg appeared at the Legends of Wrestling event that took place at Citi Field, the home of Major League Baseball's New York Mets, on Sunday in New York City and he got involved in the main event between Rob Van Dam and Scott Steiner.

During the bout between RVD and Steiner, which was the main event, Goldberg appeared and speared Steiner before hitting Doc Gallows with the Jackhammer.

Goldberg said recently that a return to the ring is likely to happen, but that it would occur under his terms only. A WWE return seems to be all but out the window as the former WWE and WCW World Heavyweight Champion recently said "nothing is there" between the two sides.

It had appeared as though Goldberg was set to return to the WWE for WrestleMania XXX last year in New Orleans, but his talks with Triple H hit a wall and nothing materialized.

Goldberg also added that he recently had revisited talks with Triple H and was willing to put the past issues between the two sides behind them, but nothing came to fruition. The former star has said in the past that he wants his son to see him wrestle at least one time.

Goldberg said a few weeks back that he wanted to put together a stadium show like no one has ever seen before in which he would return to the ring, but the details have yet to be released.

Sting got Goldberg interested in wrestling many years ago and he exploded on the scene in WCW in 1997, eventually going on a 173-0 streak that was ended by Kevin Nash at Starrcade 1998.

After WCW went under in 2001, Goldberg resurfaced in the WWE in 2003 and eventually won the World Heavyweight Championship before departing the company after an infamous match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XX in 2004.

During the bout, the audience knew that both men were leaving the company and they turned on the contest.

Though Goldberg may not return to the WWE, he made an impact at Citi Field and hit his two classic moves in what could be a warm-up to what's next for him.
