Anthony Weiner Scandal Inspires $1 Hot Dog Night At Minor League Baseball Stadium

A minor league affiliate for the San Francisco Giants in Virginia is planning on a "Salute To Scandals Night" inspired by New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner's sexting controversy, and plan to sell hot dogs for one dollar as a knock on the former Congressman.

Weiner, most recently known by his alias of "Carlos Danger," is the inspiration for the event that the Class AA Flying Squirrels of the Eastern League are holding. The Flying Squirrels are running the initiative at Thursday night's game and have even given fans the chance to win a contest by tweeting photos of themselves enjoying their hot dogs. The event is inspired by Weiner's scandal, as the candidate has admitted to sending lewd photos and messages to women online under the name "Carlos Danger."

Todd Parnell, vice president  and chief operating officer of the Flying Squirrels told the Associated Press that the promotion is "meant to be fun," while also describing it as a tongue-in-cheek kind of night. The team plans to have more scandal-inspired nights that will poke fun at athletes such as Brett Favre and Tiger Woods.

Weiner's "sexting' escapades caused him to quit Congress back in 2011, but the Democrat insists he's not a sex addict despite the fact that his behavior still continued after he dropped out of Congress.

"Addiction has a clinical meaning," Weiner said according to USA Today, "And I've been told it doesn't apply here."
