Tim Hudson Injury: Wife Of Hurt Pitcher Tweets Her Praise For New York Mets And Eric Young Jr.

It was a scary moment on Wednesday night when New York Mets speedy outfielder Eric Young Jr. stepped on and fractured Tim Hudson's ankle as they raced towards first base. The injury was gruesome and hard to watch, but Hudson has no ill-will towards Young for the play.

And according to twitter, neither does Tim's wife Kim.

"@EYJr Thank you for playing the game the right way," Kim Hudson tweeted on Thursday afternoon according to Yahoo. "You're obviously one of the good guys.  We appreciate you," she continued.

Despite the fact that the injury ended the 38-year-old hurler's season, and possibly career, the Hudson's have acknowledged that it wasn't done on purpose and was just an accident that unfortunately happens sometimes on the baseball diamond.

Tim Hudson was cruising up until the eighth inning Wednesday, allowing just four hits and one earned run while striking out nine before exiting the game with the injury. The Braves went on to win the game 8-2, but what they lost was greater.

Still, even after watching her husband suffer one of the more gruesome injuries of the 2013 MLB campaign, all Kim Hudson could do was praise Young, the Mets and the medical staff.

"Can't say enough about the @Mets organization and the way they handled Tim's injury," Kim tweeted. "Players, medical team, security, #grateful."

Kim Hudson went on to thank the Braves and their medical staff for all they did for her husband as well.

Tim Hudson has amounted 204 wins in his 15-year career, and the Braves are hopeful that the victory he notched last night won't be his final one. The Mets and Braves are National League East Division rivals, but after the incident it was no longer about rivalries.

"I'm bummed," Young told reporters after the game according to sources. "You never want to injure anybody."

Hudson is a three-time All-Star and won the comeback player of the year award in 2010.

The baseball world is hopeful Hudson can make good on one more comeback after what promises to be a long road to recovery following surgery.
