NASCAR Crash at Camping World Sales 301: Ryan Newman Fires Back at Kyle Busch, Calling Busch 'Not Very Bright'

Ryan Newman's response to Kyle Busch: Takes one to know one.

One day after NASCAR driver Busch called Newman "the biggest stupid idiot out there" and "a big ogre" during Sunday's Camping World RV Sales 301 in Loudon, N.H., Newman fired back Monday, according to USA Today.

"We know that he's not very bright," Newman said. "He's a heck of a talent but he's not very bright. And I'll leave it at that."

Busch called out Newman for reckless driving after Newman was involved in a wreck with Kyle's older brother, Kurt. Kurt Busch had led a race-high 103 laps Sunday but was finished after 226 laps because of the crash.

"I really hated that Kurt got tore up," Kyle Busch told a small group of reporters after finishing second, during USA Today's report on Sunday. "I felt like he had the best car. And was proud of them guys but, man, just stupidity. I mean Ryan Newman's the biggest stupid idiot out here, and he's a big ogre and can do whatever he wants because he can probably kick anybody's butt. So no sense in getting in a fight with him, but glad he's out of a job."

Ryan responded in kind.

"I'm just afraid if I re-arranged his face I might fix it," USA Today reported that Newman said during his weekly spot on SiriusXM Radio's NASCAR Channel. "He's frustrated finishing third or wherever he was after hitting me first and then getting a little rub down the straightaway. Just imagine how I feel. It is what it is."

Ironically, Kurt Busch said he thought he lost control of his car after getting bumped by Matt Kenseth.  Kenseth blamed Kurt Busch for the crash.

"Kind of lost our track position when Kurt cleaned out Newman," said Kenseth, Kyle Busch's teammate at JGR. "I had to stop to miss that wreck."

Newman also didn't like Kyle Busch's reference that Stewart-Haas Racing is not renewing his contract next season.

"After his comment about me not having a ride, it seems like he has way more to lose than I do," Newman said Monday. "If he's going to run his mouth, he better be able to back up running his mouth.''
