Britt McHenry Tow Truck Tirade: ESPN Suspends Reporter For Her Viral Rant [VIDEO]

It is generally a bad thing when a reporter becomes the focus of a story, but that is exactly the situation that ESPN employee Britt McHenry finds herself in currently following her recent behavior. McHenry was out to eat in Arlington, Virginia recently when her car got towed. Her handling of the situation has become a national story.

ESPN's Britt McHenry Tees Off On Innocent Worker

McHenry went down to the lot for the tow truck company (which, in fairness, has a poor reputation in the area because of their alleged shady business practices) to get her car. She proceeded to hurl insults at the cashier, including making fun of her weight, looks, and education. While everyone can agree that getting your car towed sucks and will put you in a bad mood, they can also agree that there are much better ways to handle that type of situation.

Apparently the higher-ups at the Worldwide Leader also feel that the situation should have been handled better, and they have taken action, according to NBC News. McHenry has been suspended from the network for one week because of her behavior.

McHenry took to Twitter to apologize for her behavior.

McHenry also added the following: "As frustrated as I was, I should always choose to be respectful and take the high road. I am so sorry for my actions and will learn from this mistake."

Everyone has weak moments and bad days. But that does not give anyone the right to treat another person like garbage. Hopefully McHenry does indeed learn from this.
