Model and porn star Christy Mack, whose real name is Christine Mackinday, has given a revealing interview to ESPN W about the night she was beaten by her former boyfriend, ex-UFC and Bellator mixed martial artist War Machine.
According to Mack, War Machine, whose birth name was Jon Koppenhaver, left her with 18 broken bones, several broken teeth and a thigh bruise that prevented her from walking for a week. In fact, the beating was so severe that she simply doesn't have the same face anymore, and now requires glasses.
"It's OK," she said. "They're cute.
"Just feeling my face, I knew it wasn't right. So when I'd look in the mirror, it's not me -- that person wasn't me. It's so hard to go every day without being you anymore."
Mack said she was no longer with War Machine when the attack occurred. She said War Machine walked in on her and a male friend named Corey Thomas sleeping when he attacked Thomas, hitting and biting his face before telling him to leave and not to report the incident.

Then he began striking Mack, and kicking her in the body. Eventually, she wound up naked and hurt in the bathroom.
"That is my p----y, and I'm going to take it back now," he reportedly said. War Machine allegedly tried to rape her, and also sawed off her signature Mohawk hairstyle. She was able to escape when he left her in the bathroom to go in the kitchen; Mack said she feared for her life when she hear metal rattling and believed he was retrieving a knife.
In an effort to quell speculation that her story was made up, and to address falsehoods, Mack posted gruesome photos of her injuries on social media along with a detailed account of what happened.
She said she took criticism for that, but needed to put the truth out in the open. "It wasn't OK for people to say I got what I deserved when they had no idea what my struggle was," Mack says now. "My people told me afterward that I shouldn't have (put out the photos and her statement). But I needed to write that."
In the time since the attack, War Machine has been locked up in solitary confinement. He's been quiet for months, but shortly after his arrest he made headlines for making bizarre posts on social media, and attempting to hang himself in his cell. Mack commented on his lack of remorse for the attack-during one court hearing he was chided by a judge for laughing while Mack's injuries were detailed.

"It hurt so much to know he was so separated from the situation. He still hasn't taken responsibility to this day," Mack said. "He blames his childhood, he blames me, he blames fighting. He claims he found God now -- he's looking for any kind of way not to take responsibility for what happened."
War Machine has maintained he is innocent, and claims he was attacked by Thomas.
