Michael Pineda (0-0, 3.00 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Yankees while Wei-Yin Chen (0-0, 6.23 ERA) will take the ball for Baltimore.

The Yankees got a much-needed win Sunday night against the Red Sox that was fueled by a seven-run outburst in the first inning. "It was important to get going and have a game like this, where everybody hits," catcher Brian McCann told the Yankees' official website. "We needed it. We know we have a good offense."

April could be a crucial month for the Yanks as it's filled with games almost exclusively against the American League East. Aside from a four-game set vs. the Detroit Tigers and three games vs. the New York Mets, April is all divisional foes.

"We would like to have won more than two (games), but all we can do is win the game that's in front of us," third baseman Chase Headley said. "We'll enjoy tonight and be back at it tomorrow. It's kind of a weight off the back."

The Orioles, meanwhile, have had no problems hitting the ball. They need to get their pitching in order, and shore up their defense. Outfielder Travis Snider had an embarrassing error in Sunday's 10-7 loss; while he did smack a three-run home run to erase it, the mishap was worrisome. The O's are looking to move beyond it, and downplayed some of the early sloppy play.

"If we win that game, everybody's feeling good, so it's not about what I'm doing, it's what we're doing as a team," Snider told the Orioles' official website. "And I'd like to come out of it with a series win."
