Being online during April Fools' Day is usually unbearable. Every year it seems more and more like amateur hour at the comedy club, and Twitter accounts both famous and pedestrian compete to try and pull off the lamest and most predictable gags imaginable.
However, the University of Florida actually managed to pull off an April Fools' Day joke that was hilariously worthwhile -- and they really committed to it.
First, the school tweeted out a fake article from the school's student newspaper, claiming that head football coach Jim McElwain and university president Kent Fuchs were swapping positions.
The set-up even came with accompanying video footage:
Most schools would've stopped there, but not the Gators. They proceeded to commit to the pretend swap for the entirety of Wednesday afternoon. SB Nation's Alligator Army has a more in-depth coverage of all the proceedings, but check out the journeys of 'Coach Fuchs' and 'President McElwain' below.
