Reports indicate that the following was taped Tuesday night for the edition of SmackDown that is set to air live this Thursday from Fresno, Calif. as the company hashes through the fallout of WrestleMania 31 and looks ahead to Extreme Rules on April 26 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill.
In the main event, Sheamus defeated Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan by countout in a non-title match after Bad News Barrett, who was on commentary, hit "The Beard" with the Bullhammer when the referee wasn't looking and Bryan couldn't make the count.
The show kicked off with new WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, who cut a promo alongside Big Show, Kane and J&J Security. Randy Orton then interrupted and said he still deserved a title shot and Kane announced him vs. Big Show right away.
"The Viper" won the bout by disqualification after Kane and J&J Security attacked him when he was going for the RKO. Rollins then came down to the ring and Orton got in some offense until Kane hit him with a chokeslam. Ryback then made the save as Rollins escaped and "The Big Guy" attacked Kane and J&J Security.
A match was later announced pitting Orton against Rollins at Extreme Rules for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
John Cena was also involved in a segment where he said he'll be a defending champion and put the gold on the line in an open challenge every week. Rusev interrupted alongside Lana and said he should still be United States Champion and a match was made between the two for Extreme Rules.
In other action, Luke Harper's match with Dean Ambrose ended after Harper put him through a table and The Miz defeated R-Truth, but was attacked by Sandow and the Skull Crushing Finale after the match.
Elsewhere in the Divas division, Naomi defeated Natalya with a DDT while the Bella Twins were on commentary.
This episode of SmackDown continued the march toward Extreme Rules.
