Jakob Poeltl notched a team-best 18 points and eight rebounds for the Utes on Thursday while Jordan Loveridge put up 12 points and Delon Wright added 11.

D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera paced the Hoyas with 25 assists on Thursday and added eight rebounds while Paul White and Mikael Hopkins each garnered 10 points in the win. Hopkins also led the team with nine boards in the victory.

Utah coach Larry Krystkowiak has a very simple mantra for his team.

"This isn't about a goal of reaching any point," he told ESPN. "I mentioned it to our fellas, it's about winning the first play of the game, then trying to win the second play. Really, you reflect back on whatever success you had at the end of the season. But it's very much a 'survival of the fittest' mentality that I'm trying to instill in our guys. So we cannot be complacent or satisfied with what we've done up to this point."

Georgetown has a similar mentality as the team is looking to prove it belongs in this tournament.

"You keep doing your business, you keep doing what you're supposed to do, eventually people will be quiet," coach John Thompson III said via ESPN. "To tell you the truth, we're Georgetown. Even if we do so, people may not be quiet. We're used to that."

Smith led the Hoyas in the regular season in points (16.5) rebounds (4.3) and assists (3.1) per game while Wright paced the Utes with 14.9 points and 5.3 assists per contest in 2014-15.

March Madness rolls on as Utah and Georgetown go head-to-head live from the Moda Center tonight in Oregon.
