Wrestler Dies After Match With Rey Mysterio, AAA's El Hijo Del Perro Aguayo Passes Away At 35 [VIDEO]

A tragic event unfolded in the Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion on Friday night inTijuana, Mexico, as popular luchador El Hijo del Perro Aguayo passed away after sustaining an injury during a match that also involved former WWE and WCW Superstar Rey Mysterio.

According to F4WOnline, Aguayo fell limp when he set himself up in the ropes for Mysterio's patented 619 finishing maneuver.

Aguayo, the son of wrestling legend Perro Aguayo, was treated by medical personnel, though it is unclear what led to the injury that caused him to go limp, though there is a belief that a kick to the trachea may have caused the problem.

The wrestler was taken to a local hospital and was eventually pronunced dead.

Aguayo was just 35-years-old.

A video was posted on YouTube of the unfortunate event, which cautious fans can view below:

TNA announcer Mike Tenay, who was also a former WCW announcer and is an expert in lucha libre, was one of many people that expressed their condolences on Twitter after the terrible news went public.

"Absolutely stunned by the news of El Hijo del Perro Aguayo's death last night in Tijuana," Tenay tweeted. "Supremely talented luchador and son of a legend."

Mysterio recently mutally parted ways with the WWE and returned to AAA for the first time since 1997, but what was meant to be a triumphant return quickly turned to tragedy.

Aguayo was a decorated athlete and achieved many accolades in his career, including becoming a three-time Mexican National Tag Team Champion, a one-time Mexican National Lightheavyweight Champion and a Mexican National Atomicos Champion.
