Fred Lane Killer, Ex-Wife Deidre Lane, Working At Day Camp For Children
Deidre Lane, the woman once convicted of murdering her husband and NFL running back Fred Lane, is currently working at a summer day camp for children at a Raleigh University, according to ABC News.
In 2000, Fred Lane was an up-and-coming player for the Carolina Panthers when he died of a gunshot blast fired by Deidre Lane, who in 2003 pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter. She was released in 2009.
Now known as Deidre Gary, ABC noted she has worked in the program for about a year and that "she works directly with children.”
In addition, the station also reports Doris Bullock, the woman who actually runs the Kiddie Kollege Summer Camp on the campus of St. Augustine University, has also previously been convicted of murdering her own child.
In 1981, she was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of her infant child. The university said she has worked in the program for the last 12 years and on its website lists her position as Assistant Vice President for External Relations in the office of the president. Gary is not listed in the school’s staff directory.
In a statement, school officials said: "The safety and well-being of children in our on-campus programs are our top priorities. Saint Augustine's University performs background checks on all employees. Doris Bullock and Deidra Gary serve in administrative roles and provide valuable support. They are exemplary employees and productive members of the community.”
