Retired NBA center Vlade Divac was known as one of the most effective and strategic floppers in the history of the sport, but even he thinks the practice has gotten out of hand in recent years.

Divac was recently hired by the Sacramento Kings in a front office capacity, a team he memorably played for for six years in the lae-90s and early-00s. However, while Divac was quick to defend his own littany of flops for one specific reason, he was quick to criticize modern players for their excesses.
“Well you know what, obviously my flopping came because of Shaq (O'Neal),” Divac told USA Today, referring to the Kings multiple playoff battles with O’Neal’s Lakers through the years. “There's no secret about it. That's the only way I could try to draw attention to referees what's going on.”
By “what’s going on,” Divac is referring to Shaq using his body and elbows to create separation in the low post.
“But after me,” Divac continued, “I think guys tried to overdo it. It takes fun from the game, so I'm glad they changed the rules. I support it.”
Funnily enough, the same day that Divac’s critical remarks were published in USA Today, Golden State Warriors guard Leandro Barbosa posted a Vine that lambasted Clippers forward Glen “Big Baby” Davis for a recent flop of his own.
