NHL Scores: Roundup of Sunday's Action in the National Hockey League [VIDEOS]

As the race to the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs continues, Sunday was a busy day around the league with six games on the slate.

Here is a recap of everything that went down on Sunday:

Boston Bruins 5, Detroit Red Wings 3: Daniel Paille scored two goals in the second period and had three shots and Brad Marchand added a short-handed goal as the Bruins topped the Red Wings Sunday afternoon in Boston. David Pastrnak and Loui Ericksson (power play) also tallied for the Bruins. The Red Wings received goals from Gustav Nyquist, Luke Glendening and new defenseman Marek Zidlicky in the loss.

Carolina Hurricanes 7, Edmonton Oilers 4: Each team had a hat trick in this game as Elias Lindholm had three goals on three shots for the Hurricanes while adding two assists and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins tallied three times for the Oilers in the loss. Nugent-Hopkins also added an assist. Edmonton skated out to a 3-0 lead midway through the second, but Carolina drew even on goals by Alexander Semin, Lindholm and Skinner, who tallied twice. Andrej Nestrasil also found the twine for the Hurricanes in the win at PNC Arena in North Carolina.

New Jersey Devils 5, Philadelphia Flyers 2: Adam Henrique scored two goals and Stephen Gionta found the back of the net once and added an assist as the Devils downed the Flyers Sunday evening at the Prudential Center in New Jersey. Steve Bernier had three assists and Jacob Josefson and Eric Gelinas each scored for the Devils.Ryan White and Michael Raffl lit the lamp for the Flyers in the loss.

There were three night games as well, which have yet to be decided. The New York Rangers visited the Chicago Blackhawks, the Ottawa Senators hosted he Calgary Flames and the Colorado Avalanche face-off with the Wild in Minnesota.
