The stage is set for one of the more frenzied free agent bidding processes in recent years thanks to the Detroit Lions' decision not to franchise tag star defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh. He will almost certainly be heavily pursued by a number of teams, and although Detroit wants him back, they may not be able to win a bidding war.

Teams with ample cap space and in need of superstars like the Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders will reportedly be in the mix, but there is also at least one high-profile team in a huge market that is expected to go after Suh.
The New York Giants have won two Super Bowls in the last decade, and each time, they have boasted a fearsome pass rush that was generated largely by a star-studded defensive line. The team may be trying to recreate that model in the coming years, and they are apparently set to make a "serious" run at Suh once free agency opens.

Suh has previously said that he is a big fan of New York City, which is also one of the reasons that he chose to sign with Roc Nation Sports as his representation. It is well-known that Suh loves the spotlight that comes with being a great player, and there is hardly a better place to be in the limelight than in the Big Apple.
The Giants are expected to have well over $20 million in cap room, althought they may not want to spend it all on one player. However, they may choose to restructure some of the contracts for current players to free up even more room.
