CM Punk Return WWE: 'Best in the World' Teases Match With Samoa Joe On Twitter [VIDEO]

Just when it seemed like CM Punk's days in the wrestling ring were over for good, the "Best in the World" seemed to tease a future match with Samoa Joe down the line.

While Punk's wrestling career is put on hold due to him joining UFC, Samoa Joe's time in the squared circle has also reached a crossroads as he parted ways with TNA wrestling last week upon the end of his contract.

Joe wrote on Twitter that that his year is going to be unpredictable and Punk -- who used to feud with Samoa Joe in Ring of Honor -- seemed to hint that there was unfinished business between them in the ring:

Punk walked out on the WWE in January 2014 after the Royal Rumble event and he later sighted on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast that he left due to being frustrated about being "creatively stifled" and due to being asked to work hurt.

Punk also alleged that WWE doctor Chris Amann swept a lump on his back under the rug and misdiagnosed him while he also ignored his concussion symptoms after the Royal Rumble event.

Amann has disputed these claims and sued Punk and Cabana for defamation after the comments that were made on the site and he also said he has evidence to prove the claims were false.

Punk, a five-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, also said he would never have a working relationship with the WWE again and that he received his termination papers from the company on his wedding day with WWE Diva AJ Lee.

Samoa Joe, meanwhile, had a more amicable split with TNA as the one-time TNA Heavyweight Champion was in the company for over a decade and decided to part ways on good terms with them.

Punk joined UFC in December and is set for his first fight toward the end of this year while Samoa Joe's wrestling future remains a mystery, but he should have many suitors.

Perhaps in a couple of years when this is old news, Joe and Punk will go face-to-face in the squared circle again for a promotion down the line.
