Jameis Winston Draft Rumors: Scout Asks 'How Could You Let That Guy In The Building?'

Leading up the NFL Draft, there is always a lot of debate surrounding the best prospects. Generally, the debates are about which players are better than others, which player fills the biggest need for a team, and so on. This year, the major debate focuses on Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston and which of the two quarterbacks is the better choice to lead a team.

Both players won a Heisman trophy in college and both played for a national championship, with Winston winning one. They also faced each other in this year's playoffs, with Mariota's Ducks absolutely demolishing Winston's Seminoles.

Still, many talent evaluators regard Winston as the better pro prospect, although they also wonder if his off-the-field issues constitute enough of a red flag to keep from drafting him. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the top overall pick and need a quarterback, and the importance of the decision is not lost on them, according to Deadspin.

"This is the most important pick, potentially, in the history of the franchise," said Buccaneers GM Jason Licht.

Licht also referenced Winston's issues with a casual, "Bad guy or immaturity? I'm leaning toward the latter."

It has increasingly seemed that the Buccaneers want to draft Winston, although they refuse to reveal their plans. At least one scout does not think it wise to draft the Florida State product, however.

"Someone will take him in the first round, but how could you even let that guy in the building?" the scout said. "The second law of thermodynamics basically is the more ways something can happen, the more likely it is to happen. That's true of players. The more ways they can (expletive) up, the more chances they (expletive) up. This guy's got a lot of stuff that would lean him more likely to be a bust than a good player."
