Tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, the Buffalo Sabres (16-37-3, 35 points) and New Jersey Devils (21-26-9, 51 points) face-off for the second of three meetings this season live from the Prudential Center in New Jersey.

Buffalo has lost three straight games and kicks off a two-match road trip while New Jersey has lost four consecutive matches and opens up a six-game home stand.

Both of these teams are outside of the playoff picture with the Devils sitting in 13th place, 13 points out of a playoff spot and the Sabres are in last place in the league and 29 points out of a position in the postseason.

The first time these two teams met, New Jersey topped Buffalo 4-1 on Jan. 6.

the Sabres are coming off of two consecutive 2-1 losses to the Ottawa Senators and Philadelphia Flyers and will look to avoid their fourth straight defeat.

Zach Bogosian has been enjoying his new role on special teams since his trade from the Winnipeg Jets to Buffalo.

"I got more special teams time [on Sunday] than the last 15 games in Winnipeg," he said. "I'm looking forward to the new challenge and new role. It's something I've always wanted."

Tyler Ennis leads the Sabres this season with 31 points off of 13 goals and 18 assists while Zemgus Girgensons has 14 tallies and 12 helpers for 26 points.

The Devils are coming off of a 3-1 loss to the Nashville Predators and will look to avoid a five-game skid.

New Jersey will have Stephen Gionta back in the lineup tonight after he missed seven weeks with a fractured left hand. He'll be back in time to face his brother and former Devil Brian Gionta.

"It's been a long wait, but I'm excited to get back and the opponent we're playing tonight has extra meaning," Stephen Gionta told NHL.com. "This is probably the fourth or fifth time we've played against each other and each time it's pretty special, so it's a cool thing to do and to experience. Once the game starts though, it's just another opponent, but it's something fun to experience."

Jaromir Jagr, who has been the subject of trade rumors, has paced the Devils with 29 points this season off of 11 goals and 18 assists while Adam Henrique has 11 markers and 17 helpers for 28 points.

In net, New Jersey turns to Cory Schneider and he is 19-22-5 with a 2.30 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage.

Buffalo counters with Michal Neuvirth in the crease and he is 3-15-1 with a 3.29 GAA and a .908 save percentage.

The Sabres and Devils go head-to-head tonight when the puck drops live from the Prudential Center tonight in New Jersey.
