Steve Irwin's Daughter Update: "Crocodile Hunter's" Teen Daughter Not Dead

The 14-year-old daughter of “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin is safe and well, despite a rash of Internet stories to the contrary, according to Us Weekly Magazine.

Bindi Irwin was reported to have died by several sites throughout the day on Friday, climbing as high as No. 4 on MSN’s list of the most trending topics, according to Social News Daily.

According to Us Weekly, the Australian teen is actually now in Sydney, where she is said to be promoting the release of her upcoming film Return to Nim Island. In a role originally played by Abigal Breslin opposite Jodie Foster and Gerard Butler in 2008, the young Irwin assumes the character of a wildlife-loving castaway.

"Nim is a little bit uppity but apart from that we are quite similar," Bindi Irwin recently told the Australian site Adelaide Now, adding that her sea lion costars were "better trained than me. They hit their mark every time."

A wildlife expert and conservationist, Steve Irwin died in September of 2006 at age 44 after being pierced in the chest by a sting ray while filming a documentary off the Queensland coast, Us Weekly previously reported.

Bindi Irwin has also previously acted in nature themed films, most famously 2010's Free Willy: Escape from Pirate's Cove, which went straight to DVD.
