AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am 2015: Mark Hubbard Proposes to Girlfriend on 18th Hole

Valentine's Day is still one day away, but that didn't stop Mark Hubbard from bringing the love on Friday.

After tapping in a putt to save par on the 18th hole, Hubbard dropped to one knee behind the green with a ring in hand. A proposal to his girlfriend, Meaghen McCurley, flashed on the video board.

The rookie showed the poise of a seasoned vet.

"Her mom had the idea when I asked her dad for permission," he said (via CBC Sports). "She just thought it would be cool to include golf and we've been together for so long, I felt like I had to do something different than just take her out to dinner or something. So, it just kind of all clicked."

What wasn't clicking was Hubbard's golf game. The 25-year-old finished his day shooting an even-par 72.

"If I had a really good round going, I definitely would have been thinking on 18, 'Oh God, don't blow this,'" he added. "But it was just a frustrating, ho-hum day, so it kind of kept my attention off the last hole. I wasn't thinking about it until I ran my putt two feet by and I was like, 'Man, it would really [stink] to three-putt right now,' so I was pretty glad I made that second one."

As for the wedding: "Tomorrow at Monterey Peninsula," Hubbard said with a laugh. "I don't know. We haven't gotten that far yet."

At the current time, Justin Hicks and J.B. Holmes sit atop the leaderboard with a minus-eight. Jim Furyk, John Daly, Dudley Hart, J.J. Henry, Brandt Snedeker and Chesson Hadley are all one stroke back at minus-seven.
