Detroit Lions Rumors: LaVar Arrington Says Packers 'Best Fit' for Free Agent Defensive Tackle [VIDEO]

It's a match made in cheesehead heaven, and Detroit Lions hell.

The Detroit Free Press reported on a NFL Network video discussing the possible destination of the game's biggest free-agents.

Ndamukong Suh to give up $100 million to sign with the Seattle Seahawks?

Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh topped the NFL.com list, and the question was posed to former seven-year NFL veteran linebacker LaVar Arrington, who said that free agents sometimes have a chip on their shoulder against their former team.

"A lot of times, players that leave their team feel disrespected and that they weren't treated correctly, and they tend to stay in the division. I'm looking at Green Bay," Arrington said on NFL Network. "I think that would be a great fit.

Are the Lions insulting Ndamukong Suh by letting him test free agency?

"They're going to get B.J. Raji back, so now you're looking at B.J. Raji and Ndamukong Suh, and then you got those guys on the outside -- more specifically, you have Julius Peppers, you got Clay Matthews ....

"You shore up the center of that defensive front, and that might have been one of the pieces that they were truly missing on that team this past season."

NFL.com prefaced the discussion, saying that each of the free agents that were being discussed stood a good chance of returning to their current teams.

Suh's contract could approach the $100 million mark for a team looking to make a statement, so it would require a team with a lot of cap space. According to a report from acmepackingcompany.com, the Packers, who reached the NFC Championship Game last season, will have in excess of $28 million to spend on free agents in 2015.

But the team has several free agents on its own roster to examine before contemplating Suh.

A number of key Packers players have contracts expiring after the 2014 season, including Randall Cobb, Bryan Bulaga, Tramon Williams, Davon House, Jamari Baltimore, B.J. Raji, How much Green Bay is willing to spend the money on free agents is unclear.

The Lions still could place the franchise tag on Suh and make all speculation moot. Bleacher Report already said his preference is to play with the Seahawks if money is not an issue. But if Suh is angry with the Lions, he would be in a better position to do something about it with the Packers.
